Louis is a decorated, retired U.S. Air Force veteran who completed his career as a flight engineer in Combat Search and Rescue. During his service, he also conducted rescue missions across the vast and rugged terrain of Alaska. Now, he’s trading helicopters for rafts—guiding others down the pristine streams along the Parks Highway.
His journey as an angler began humbly in the mountains of northern New Mexico. It wasn’t until he returned to those same mountains years later that his passion for fishing was reignited—quickly becoming a driving force in his life. In 2013, Louis moved to Alaska to finish out his military career with the Alaska Air National Guard. It was here that his love for fishing truly flourished.
Louis has inspired and mentored countless anglers with his natural teaching ability and deep knowledge of the water. Now rooted in the Susitna Valley, he’s committed to sharing unforgettable fishing experiences while supporting conservation efforts for Alaska’s iconic salmon and rainbow trout.
